It’s nearly that time of the year when we all buy tins of gin and tonic and dance in fields to great music. But where are the best festivals this year in London?

Crystal Palace Festival

Held in Crystal Palace Park this festival will take place June 11 to 17 and is free. They promise high quality arts and culture for people that can’t usually afford to join in. The event is run voluntarily to showcases all that’s great about the area. There will be eclectic music, comedy, theatre, spoken word and food and drink.

Greenwich Music Time

This is held at the Old Naval College in Greenwich. This year the festival will take place July 5-8. The line up currently features Steps and Il Divo, but keep your eyes peeled for more announcements.

Brixton Disco Festival

Held on April 28, this is a brand new Day & Night festival in the heart of South London. You can celebrate over 40 years of disco, with live music, DJs, screenings, talks and food and drink. It will be held in venues surrounding Brixton’s iconic Windrush Square - Electric Brixton, POW club and rooftop, Ritzy Picturehouse and The Black Cultural Archives.

Mighty Hoopla

This will take place in Brockwell Park on June 3. This is a new pop extravaganza Mighty Hoopla is a celebration of London’s alternative club culture. Packed with legendary and hot new live acts.

Gala

In the heart of Peckham Rye on the May bank holiday there is a spectacular line up of some of the best DJs in house and disco. See Honey Dijon, Gideon, Midland and Horse Meat Disco.

Jam on the Rye

This festival is stepping off the concrete and taking on Peckham Rye. They will be raising the bar for street food and creating community with the traders. They will be transforming the space with good people and good food and of course, the best music. May 28.

Field Day

This is also in Brockwell Park and takes place June 1 and 2. Field Day has a new home for 2018, and a lineup that includes peerless live acts Erykah Badu and Fever Ray alongside top-notch DJs like Helena Hauff, Avalon Emerson and Gilles Peterson.

Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park (BST Hyde Park) is a music festival held over two weekends once a year in London's Hyde Park. This year the headline acts are The Cure, Eric Clapton, Bruno Mars and loads more. This year it will be help on July 6 to 14.
