A man has been hospitalised after a crash outside Sidcup's Tesco Superstore on Thursday morning (April 12).

Ambulances were called to the scene on Edgington Road and paramedics performed CPR on the man before taking him to hospital.

A Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed: "Police were called at 10.40am on Thursday, 12 April to reports of a man taken unwell on Edgington Way, Sidcup, Bexley.

"British Transport Police (BTP) and London Ambulance Service (LAS) arrived at the scene and performed CPR before conveying the victim -at present no further details- to a south London hospital.

"Next of kin were informed by Met officers.

"The victim is currently in a stable condition."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

"We were called at 10:34am today to Edgington Way, Sidcup, to reports of a road traffic collision.

"We sent an incident response officer, our hazardous area response team (HART), a single responder in a car and an ambulance crew.

"We treated a man at the scene in cardiac arrest and took him to hospital as a priority."
