Two police officers in Greenwich were injured while apprehending suspects on Saturday night.
The suspects were arrested in connection with knifepoint robberies, but lashed out as they were taken into custody.
A tweet from the force in Greenwich said: "Two officers injured, one kicked. Both spat at in the face!!"

The account continued to praise the "eagle eyes" of CCTV operatives, who they said were "often forgotten team players" in keeping people safe.
