A couple from Biggin Hill who once performed on Britain’s Got Talent are preparing to break another Guinness World Record.

Chris and Lisa Pitman, who already secured a Guinness World Record for breaking roof tiles, will try to smash a record number of wooden boards using a single hand in one minute.

The current Guinness World Record attempt for a male is 314 boards and the female record is 155 boards.

Mrs Pitman, 44, told News Shopper: “I think we will smash it.

"It is going to be amazing. 200 people are coming to watch it.”

The attempt will take place at Bishop Challoner School on Bromley Road on Monday (April 9) and will be streamed live on Facebook.

The two black belt holders run a Taekwondo teaching service where they hold regular classes in Beckenham, Bromley, Farnborough, Petts Wood and Orpington.

“We like to inspire students to do something that is quite out there,” Lisa laughed. “It takes a lot of determination and guts – it is quite mad really.”

The partners, who call themselves the ‘world’s most powerful couple’, currently boast the Guinness World Record for smashing 1000 roof tiles in the fastest ever time in the male and female categories.

Husband Chris, 48, said: “We have been training extremely hard and are determined to smash both records on the day.

“We will use our expertise to make this a truly spectacular event.”

Director of Shaman Group, Sufian Miah, which is sponsoring the event, said: “This is an amazing and very thrilling attempt by Chris and Lisa, which really gives a wow factor and the public will be thoroughly enthralled.

“On behalf of everyone at Shaman, we wish Chris and Lisa the best of luck and we’re looking forward to the event.”
