Several restaurants in Bexleyheath were forced to close last night when their water started to cut out.

The restaurants, in Broadway, saw their water pressure drop and were not able to serve customers as a result.

A member of the public told the News Shopper that Wetherspoon's, Nando's and the toilets in Burger King were all out of action.

Business owners in the area are still experiencing low water pressure this morning.

A spokeswoman from Thames Water said: “The low water pressure is due to a burst water main on Cross Lane in Bexley, which is being repaired.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and are working hard to get the job finished as quickly as possible.”

One Twitter user has spotted water "streaming" out of the road near where the main has burst.
