A woman travelling through Abbey Wood caught on camera the moment an "impatient" driver drove full speed down the pavement.

Sue Bert was driving along St Katherine Road near Southmere Park around midday on Monday (March 19) when she had to slow down as a car in front of her performed a three-point turn.

While she waited, her dashcam caught the moment the car behind overtook her onto the pavement, alongside a row of houses, and sped past both her and the turning car in front of her.

Sue said: "I think they went down the wrong road because it's a dead end, they turned around and came back.

"Just when you thought it was safe to walk on the pavement."

Sue posted the video onto the local Facebook group Thamesmead All Stages where people were less than complimentary about the drivers' actions.

Lisa Marie Smith wrote: "Impatient c***. Anyone could have been hit and killed at that speed if they had walked out."

June Skie wrote "If a child had walked out of the house they would have been killed."

Resident Josh Oleary, who lives nearby, said: "Omg that’s so stupid, I live so close to there and my nan walks the dog down that road."
