A man was taken to hospital after he was stabbed in Erith High Street earlier this afternoon.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing shortly after 4.10pm today (March 20).

The 24-year-old man sustained an injury to his arm and was later taken to a south London Hospital.

The man has not yet been discharged from hospital but his injuries are described as non-life threatening.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: “At this early stage officers believe that the injury was inflicted at Pier Road or Erith High Street and the victim made his was along Erith High Street to seek help.

“Officers are at the scene and cordons have been established.

“There have been no arrests.

“Officers from Bexley CID investigate. Enquiries continue.”
