If you have a spare cucumber lying around at home then tonight is the night to put it to good use and exchange it for a drink.
Young’s pubs are accepting cucumbers as currency in exchange for a Hendrick's Gin & Tonic, but only for today.
Why? Apparently it is a good marketing ploy from Hendrick's Gin because they "recognise the value of the humble cucumber".
Not all Young’s pubs will be participating but a huge majority of South London pubs are, so it’s time to have a look in the fridge or veg patch.
The pubs will only be accepting cucumbers as payment today (March 20) so if you get a strange look in a week's time trying to swap a cucumber for a drink, then don’t blame us.
So where can you take your cucumber?
