Police are appealing for witnesses after reports from worried drivers about a woman being "repeatedly punched" on the M25 and A2.

Kent Police is asking for dashcam footage after a female passenger was allegedly hit in the face while being driven coastbound on the A2 between Bexley and Gravesend between 1.10pm and 1.40pm yesterday (March 6). 

Police attended and arrested a 31-year-old man in Valley Drive, Gravesend. 

Kent Police Road Police Unit said: "Arrest made in Gravesend after responding to numerous reports of a male driver repeatedly punching a female passenger in the face on the M25 and A2.

"Thanks to all those who called in and reported the direction of travel of the vehicle."

Police are asking drivers who may have seen the incident, which was reported to have involved a silver/grey Audi A6 Quattro estate, to contact Detective Constable Amy Burrows on 01474 366541 quoting crime reference XY/012617/18.

  • Brendan Scott, of St Patrick’s Gardens in Gravesend, has been charged with assault, dangerous driving and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance. He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court today, March 7, where he was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Woolwich Crown Court on April 4.
