The streets of Bromley are being gritted and salted ahead of another night of snowfall.

In total - 280 miles of Bromley roads have been salted and cleared, with particular focus on transport stations and approaches to emergency services and steep hills.

Councillor William Huntington-Thresher said: "We have been operating virtually around the clock since Sunday evening. The latest snowfall overnight means that having treated all the priority routes in the early hours, we’ll need to treat and re-treat – it’s a continuous process.

"As always, Snow Friends are helping to clear snow and ice from the side roads. We are enormously grateful for their contribution which means that more roads than just the priority routes are being treated."

Street cleaning duties are suspended as Kier crews are working to clear snow from town centre pavements.
