A 27-year-old Beckenham woman says she has never felt so scared in her life after two men on a moped demanded that she pull over in her car.

Natasha Amber was driving back from Warwickshire on Saturday evening before stopping near Penge High Street to collect a Chinese takeaway at 8pm.

She believes that was the moment she was targeted as she remembers spotting someone suspicious but thinking nothing of it.

Back in her car, Ms Amber drove to Tremaine Road, Penge, to visit her sister.

She told News Shopper: "A moped overtook me and blocked my way. I was on the phone to my mum. One got off the back and walked towards me. He pulled out something.

"I was so scared and I then saw it was a crowbar. I just drove, I don't even remember, I drove straight down to the end of the road."

She said the men were wearing balaclavas and helmets.

Ms Amber fled down backroads before turning - only to see the moped driver was beside her.

"They were shouting at me to pull over. Obviously I wasn't going to do that."

Ms Amber, who was "frantically screaming" at the moped driver to leave her alone, sped through red lights and on the wrong side of the road to get away.

She eventually lost the moped and made it to the BP service station in South Norwood where police located her after they advised her on the phone to drive to a populated area/

According to Ms Amber, she has not heard back from police yet.

"It was just a horrible, horrible experience. Who knows what they were trying to do. It is so horrible to think this is where I have lived all of my life."

Ms Amber wants to make other drivers, especially lone females, aware of this threat.

The Met Police confirmed the incident was reported to them.

They believe it was an attempted robbery and the two suspects are white.

Police say enquiries continue and no arrests have been made.
