A dog was left howling in pain and bleeding after a man apparently kicked it in the face in Abbey Wood.
The RSPCA is investigating after footage showed a man appearing to lash out at a Staffordshire bull terrier outside the Co Op in Mcleod Road.
The man was seen outside the store at about 3.55pm on February 12.
Witnesses said the man kicked his dog in the mouth because it was barking.
The dog had been left outside while the man went inside the shop.
RSPCA inspector Nick Wheelhouse said: “This dog was left howling in pain after being kicked in the mouth, this is an unacceptable way to treat a dog.
“We’d like to speak to anyone who recognises this man or who saw what happened to the dog."
The RSPCA is asking witnesses to get in touch on their appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
