Police are appealing for information after a motorcyclist died in a crash with a lorry in Woolwich.

Officers and London Ambulance Service were called to John Wilson Street just before 3pm on Thursday (February 15).

The rider, a 55-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the lorry stopped and is assisting police with enquiries. No arrests have been made.

Detective Constable Steve Cannings said: “This collision took place at a very busy section of the South Circular approaching Woolwich Ferry.

“There will have been a number of witnesses who saw the collision take place and I urge them to come forward to help us piece together the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.”
