Have you ever been left scratching your head or swearing in anger after receiving a questionable parking ticket?
Here are five stories where drivers were left bemused after being punished for their parking.
- Abbey Wood commuter with £0 parking ticket gets chased up for non-existent fine
An Abbey Wood driver was left perplexed when Bexley Council sent her a letter demanding she pay a fine of £0.
Josh Woodley, 40, said she paid 3.80 to park in New Wood.
She told News Shopper: "At first I was furious because I knew I had paid but when I actually looked at it, it had ‘no pounds, no pence’ on it."
The council admitted they made a mistake and apologised. Josh had no hard feelings and said the incident was "hilarious".
This is a more cynical example. A Police Constable attached to Greenwich was found guilty of misconduct after claiming he was "engaged in official police duties" as he tried to escape a ticket.
The reality was that he stopped for a kebab! This one is worth a read.
- Parking fines cancelled for motorists ticketed after London terror attack
Transport for London was forced to apologise after an "insensitive mistake" when they dished out penalty charges to drivers who had to abandon their cars during the London Bridge terror attack.
The £130 fines were cancelled.
- Smart Parking won’t cancel fine for woman who typed O not 0 at Erith shopping centre
An elderly woman was hit with a £60 fine after entering a zero into the parking machine as she mistaked it with the letter 'O'.
She said: "My husband blew his fuse. This really does take the biscuit. It seems ridiculous. It's common sense."
Dozens of people reacted angrily to this one!
- Driver in Albion Road car park fined for parking at Albany Park station
A plasterer from Bexley was left bemused when he returned to his vehicle before his parking session had expired only to find a parking ticket.
He later learned that the council had given him a ticket for parking in Albany Park railway station, in Steynton Avenue, when he had actually been parked 2.5 miles away in Albion Road multi-storey in Bexleyheath.
Bexley Council eventually admitted they were wrong and retracted the fine.
- Abbey Wood minicab service slams company for 'ridiculous' parking fine after £4 job
A cab driver was left furious after picking up a client in White Hart Avenue, Thamesmead, as part of a £4 job only to be fined £60 for parking on private property.
He failed twice to overturn the charge which was then bumped to £160, which his company reluctantly paid.
The Abbey Wood minicab service claimed the driver was only stopped for a "few minutes".
