Police in Dartford closed the Dartford Crossing following "concerns for a person's welfare".

Drivers are being warned to expect delays following the closure of the left-hand tunnel at just before 10.15am.

The tunnel has reopened but officers remain at the scene.

The incident happened inside the tunnel.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called to the A282 Dartford Tunnel following concerns for the welfare of a person.

"Officers are currently at the scene.

"Delays in the area are expected."

There are queues stretching back from Junction 1a Junction 3. 

Traffic built quickly and there are still delays in the area. 

Update: Police confirmed to News Shopper at 12.10pm that they are still at the scene dealing with the incident.
