Kent Police Roads Unit released the footage in an effort to track down the driver - who sped away from the crash.
Police said it was reported that a till from a petrol road in Chattenden had been stolen at 1.45am this morning (Wednesday, February 14).
A car was spotted at just past 2am, but the driver failed to stop when police requested.
Police chased the car, a black Ford Mondeo, from the Wainscott bypass to Longfield Hill.
In the footage, officers can be heard saying: "He's going to ram us, yeah he's going to ram us.
"Back up, back up, back up."
The car is put into reverse before ramming into the police vehicle before driving off towards Longfield.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "An area search took place following the collision however, at present, officers have not located the car or the suspect."
The registration of the suspect car is RV04 UDY.
Kent Police RPU tweeted after the chase: "We would like to provide the driver with bed and breakfast facilities. #cellforonebooked"
