Police are investigating after an 84-year-old man died in a "very small fire" in Bromley.
London Fire Brigade were called to a fire in Gibbs House in Longfield, at just past 9pm on Friday, February 9.
A spokesman for LFB said : "A very small fire had already been extinguished before the arrival of the Brigade and one man was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service. Sadly, he later died in hospital."
Police, and LFB's Fire Investigation Unit, are investigating the cause of the blaze.
A spokeswoman for the Met said: "The occupant of the flat, an 84-year-old man, was taken to a south London hospital with serious burn injuries.
"He was subsequently transferred to a hospital in west Sussex where he died on Sunday, February 11."
"The cause of the fire has yet to be determined."
Enquiries into the blaze are ongoing. The victim's next of kin have been informed.
