An 80-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after she was hit by a car in Plumstead.
Witnesses reported seeing the elderly woman crossing Plumstead Common Road by Puddingstone Grange Care Home at around 8.20am this morning (February 12).
Met Police were called to the scene and her injuries have been described as "life-threatening".
Jason Shergold was one of the people who rushed to her aid when they saw the accident.
He told News Shopper: “The driver tried to stop and avoid her but could not.
“I ran over to help give first aid with two other people until paramedics arrived.
“She had a head injury and was in a serious/stable condition and taken to hospital via land ambulance.”
Routes 51 and 53 are diverted following the closure of Plumstead Common Road at Venham Road due to a road traffic collision

Police are on the scene and Plumstead Common Road has been closed off. No arrests have been made.
