A hub to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds launch their careers has is set to open in Deptford.
Opening at the Stephen Lawrence Centre, the hub is specifically aimed towards supporting start-ups and young entrepreneurs get their feet started in the business world.
Called Your Space, the hub is set to be completed in March this year and will have spaces for work and residency.
Your Space was funded by a number of different organisations and companies, including international architecture firm Gensler ad construction company BW.
The hub is opening in part to celebrated 20 years since the founding of the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust which has been helping provide support for disadvantaged youths since its opening five years after Stephen himself was killed.
Sonia Watson, chief executive of The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust said, “We are very excited to introduce a new initiative that both supports the charity and provides aspiring entrepreneurs with accessible resources to help them develop and flourish.
“We are committed to shaping Your Space into London’s leading co-working hub for start-ups within the built environment.”
