Police investigating a string of sex attacks on young women in south east London have been given more time to quiz a suspect.

Kevin Bond, aged 51, of Ingelby Way, appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court today via a video link from Lewisham Police station.

Bond has been charged with two counts of sexual assaults relating to attacks on girls, aged 13 and 14, in Lee and Plumstead.

He was arrested on Monday and today police applied for an extra three days to interrogate the suspect in relation to further allegations.

Maxine Channer-McDonald, prosecuting, said: “These two offences are against girls aged 13 and 14. Two charges have been authorised but the case is still under investigation.”

Police were granted time to question Bond in relation to the other offences.

Bond has been detained until Saturday (February 3) when he is due to appear again at Bromley Magistrates' Court.
