Armed police are reported to be involved in searches as part of a murder inquiry after a man died in Farnborough.
Officers were called to Mayfield Road in the Hampshire town at 1.45pm on Friday where an injured man had been found.
A Hampshire police spokeswoman said that South East Coast Ambulance Service attended and an air ambulance is understood to have landed at Cherrywood Community Primary School.
The spokeswoman confirmed that the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
She said: “Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Farnborough.
“Officers are currently at the scene as investigations into the exact circumstances of the man’s death continue.”
She said police have arrested five men in connection with the incident.
“At this time, we believe we have not spoken to all of those involved in the incident and searches are continuing in the area.
“We have a number of officers in the area so if you have any concerns please speak to them or your local neighbourhood team.”
Twitter user AlpacaShack posted on Twitter that armed police were in Mayfield Road and they were forced to stay indoors.
