A bogus police officer tricked a pensioner into letting him enter her house in Dartford.
The fraudster called on his victim, a woman in her 80s, in Fulwich Road at about 9pm on January 9.
According to Kent Police, the suspect then searched the property before leaving through the front door, without taking anything.
The suspect is described as white, 6ft, in his 40s and of medium build.
He was dressed in black and wearing a black woolly hat.
