Students at a Chislehurst school can sleep in today after a lack of heating forced its closure today (January 22).

Principal of Coopers School, in Hawkwood Lane, Shirley Puxty posted a message on its website yesterday apologising for the "inconvenience."

"I am sorry to advise you that the school will be closed on Monday, January 22 as we are without heating," Mrs Puxty wrote.

"I apologise the late notice and inconvenience.

"Please continue to look at the website for updates."

Not all students got off scot-free though.

"Public examination for years 12 and 13 will continue as planned," Mrs Puxty wrote.

"Normal mustering procedure will apply - 8.30am in the main hall.

Members of PLT should still attend as should examination invigilators.

There is no word yet on when the school will re-open.
