Police have confirmed that a 25-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after numerous incidents of criminal damage to businesses on Bromley High Street.

The shop windows were sprawled with graffiti on Friday (January 19).

The woman has been charged with 14 counts of criminal damage and four counts of public order offences, displaying writing likely to cause alarm of distress.

She has been bailed to attend Bromley Magistrates' Court on February 2.

Up to 17 shops were targeted including the British Heart Foundation charity shop.

The manager of KFC told News Shopper: "There was a lot of graffiti and I had to call a window cleaner and he had to leave and come back with special materials and chemicals to clean it off.

“He spent about three hours taking off all the graffiti.

“We have a special cover on the windows so it wasn’t that bad. If it was a real window it would be a lot more difficult to clean.

“This is the first time something like this has happened. All our neighbours, including the bank, were hit by it."

The manager at Ryman Stationary added: “It’s quite the shock, the majority of the high street were hit. Luckily we weren’t hit.”
