An elderly man died behind the wheel of a car after he went into cardiac arrest in Crayford.

Police were called to the scene at 10.12am today (January 15) to reports of a car crashing in Crayford Road.

Officers and London Ambulance went to the scene where they found the elderly male driver with a suspected cardiac arrest.

He was taken to a south London hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12.30pm. His next of kin are aware.

The Met Police closed the road whilst it conducted its investigation.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
