UPDATE - One person was arrested in relation to this incident

UPDATE - A police spokesman told News Shopper: "Officers attended and spoke to the victim, who was not injured.

"A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of robbery and was taken to a south London police station.

"He has been released under investigation."

A teenage boy, 17, pleaded on a doorstep for help after he claims he was attacked and chased in Beckenham.

He was reportedly pursued by a gang in Cator Park before he ran to a house on Kings Hall Road at around 3.30pm yesterday (January 4).

A 19-year-old woman answered and she spoke to News Shopper about what happened.

She said: "I was at home and I heard the doorbell ring loads of times. I opened and a young boy, I think he was 16, was standing there panting.

"He said he had been chased and mugged and he wanted to use the phone to call the police."

She said police arrived five minutes later.

The teenager told police that the gang which attacked him was school related.

He is reportedly a former student of Dulwich College but now attends Harris Academy Sydenham.

The woman who answered the door added: "He said he saw two people he recognised as he was on his way home. He took the long route to avoid them.

"They cornered him as he ran through Cator Park and he saw one of them with a knife.

"When he came to mine he had his trousers split. He couldn't talk much because he was out of breath, shaking and upset."
