A cab driver was viciously attacked after a passenger refused to pay his fare in Bexley.

The attack happened on Saturday, August 12, at 2am after the victim drove a man to the BP garage in Harrow Manorway.

Police said the passenger then refused to pay the cab driver his fare, and the pair started arguing.

During the argument on the garage forecourt, the passenger rang a second man - who police said then came to the garage and punched the driver in the face.

PC Caroline Repsch, of Bexley Police, said: "This was a violent attack on a man who was just trying to do his job. If anyone recognises this person, please contact police."

Both males then fled the scene on foot.

The man who was initially involved in the verbal dispute was interviewed under caution on October 2.

The suspect who punched the cab driver remains outstanding.

He is described as a black man, aged in his 30s to early 40s - he was wearing a black T-shirt with a large Adidas logo and a khaki coloured cap.
