A teenage girl has died after being hit by a car in Deptford. 

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after the crash in Creek Road at the junction with Deptford Church Street killed 19-year-old Laura Keyes on November 30.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Police were called the scene at 10.15pm and attended with London Ambulance but Laura was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination was held at Greenwich Mortuary on Wednesday, December 6.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: “We await its findings.

“The driver of the BMW, a 21-year-old man, stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

“He was taken to a south London police station and later bailed to a date in mid-December pending further enquiries.”

Detectives from the Met's Road and Transport Policing Command are investigating and would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the crash.
