Bad presents are an inevitable part of Christmas. It might be socks, ties, underwear or a boring annual.
But Bromley Council has taken "rubbish" presents to a whole new level - by selling gift vouchers for garden waste collections.
The bizarre Christmas gift was advertised in the council’s newsletter Environment Matters with the lines: ‘Treat that special someone to a year's worth of garden waste collections.’
The voucher, worth £60, will get you a large 240-litre wheelie bin which will be collected every two weeks for a year.
But not everybody is convinced by the idea.
On Facebook, Sam Russell said: “Drop everything - Bromley Council have the best gift ideas...”
Ali Holder said: “I asked for bags of compost for my birthday so I shouldn't really laugh.”
Green-fingered gardeners can put in grass cuttings, leaves, prunings and hedge trimmings.
Anybody interested in buying a voucher can call 0300 303 8658 or visit: bromley.gov.uk/gardencollections.
