The mum of a young father who was murdered in Greenwich after being mugged for his Rolex watch has spoken out as police launch a fresh appeal for information.

New CCTV images have been released as police from the Met's homicide unit investigate the killing of Bromley dad Danny Pearce.

The images were captured just a few minutes before robbers stole Danny's watch and fatally stabbed him as he made his way home with friends from a night out.

Danny, aged 31, was walking with his girlfriend and two friends in King William Walk after leaving Oliver's Jazz Club in Nevada Street when he was confronted by the threatening pair just after midnight on July 15.

When he refused to hand over his watch he was stabbed repeatedly and shot at, with the whole attack witnessed by his terrified friends.

Danny, who had a five-year-old daughter, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His mother, Jan Pearce, 63, said: "It has been just over four months since my Danny was randomly murdered in Greenwich.

"He left behind a family who loved him unconditionally, including two sisters and a brother. But it is not only us as adults suffering - Danny's nieces and nephews are grieving and it hurts them in different ways. How do you answer a child when they ask where Uncle Danny is?

"We need to get these murderers off the street - who knows who will be next and then another family will go through the same devastation as us.

"If you know who did this to my son please, please tell the police. I don't want another mum to go through this agony. I need to know those responsible will be locked up for a very long time."

Dozens of tributes were left at the scene including a child's drawing marked 'to daddy, love Gracie'.

Police said these new images show the moped as it drives slowly past the group, who had just exited the club, about two minutes before the brutal attack.

Just after they pass the group, the pillion passenger is seen raising his arm to point back at Danny, alerting his accomplice they have found a potential victim.

The footage then shows the moped fleeing the scene down Nevada Street and then into Burney Street.

A reward of £10,000 offered by the independent charity Crimestoppers for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Danny's murder still stands.

Detective Inspector Jo Sidaway, of the Met's homicide and major crime command, said: "These people had no connection to Danny, but it is clear from the CCTV they point him out as a target as they drive past him, having spotted his valuable Rolex watch.

"Moments after he refused to surrender his Rolex, the first suspect produced a large knife and began chasing and stabbing him whilst the second man shot in his direction as Danny ran for his life, having already acted to protect his friends by urging them to get away as fast as possible.

"We know the handgun was discharged at least four times, and while it was the stab wounds that caused Danny's death, a mark found on his back was consistent with a bullet graze.

"Danny sought help at an address in the street but these men showed no mercy, returning again to use the knife against him even as he was collapsed on the steps outside the house.

"It was only when his girlfriend shouted out that she'd give them the watch if they ceased that they left off. Without a hint of remorse they grabbed the Rolex and fled the scene.

"Danny's watch is an important line of enquiry for us. The model was a Silver Rolex Datejust 2 2017, worth around £5,000. Do you work in a shop perhaps and remember seeing such an item offered for sale? Or maybe you bought such a watch in good faith from an internet dealer?"

Two men aged 21 and 27 have been arrested since the investigation was launched.

The 21-year-old has been released under investigation and the 27-year-old has been bailed until a date in early December.

Witnesses have been asked to contact police on 101.
