UPDATE: Police say a woman has now handed herself in as a result of this appeal and are no longer looking for the woman in the video
An elderly lady has had her purse stolen after she left it in a McDonald's in Bexleyheath.
On Wednesday, November 1, the 80-year-old victim left her bag in the Broadway branch of McDonald's as she left at 4.41pm.
Police investigating the theft want to identify a woman who allegedly took the bag six minutes later, without handing it in.
A spokesman for Bexley police said: "If you find property and don’t take reasonable steps to trace the owner or hand the property in then you are committing theft.
"There is no police record of the property being handed in and it has not been returned to its owner."
The suspect allegedly took the bag at 4.47pm and walks towards the exit.
Police have released CCTV of the incident as they look to trace the woman involved.
Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
