The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer.
For most, the fading light will be an inconvenience, but for burglars the dark is the perfect cover for committing crime.
Police are holding an event to help Orpington residents keep safe from break-ins.
The Burglary Squad crime prevention event will take place on Sunday, November 26, between 9am and 1pm on Avebury Road, Orpington.
Residents can meet detective inspector Charles Clare in a 'ask the boss' session.
There will also be a display of wanted offender images, bike marking and a free prize draw for home security products.
