A collapsed sewer in Bromley has caused emergency repair works that could take up to a fortnight.

Market Square from East Street and Widmore Road will be closed to traffic from Monday, October 30.

It is not known how long repairs will take, although the council estimate it could be up to two weeks.

Traffic will be diverted via Tweedy Road and London Road in both directions.

Access to The Glades carpark via Glades Place will be unaffected, with cars able enter Widmore Road from Tweedy Road and Kentish Way.

Access to the Sainsbury's store will be maintained via East Street only.

Motorists coming from Kentish Way/Tweedy Road A21 into Widmore Road, travelling towards the closure, should note that a secondary diversion will be in place via Court Street, South Street, East Street, West Street, College Road, with motorists then able to pick up the main diversion on Tweedy Road and London Road.

During the works, buses will not use the northern section of the High Street.
