Police are looking for witnesses after a car hit a man after appearing to deliberately try to mow down pedestrians outside a Catford bar.

Officers were called to Mekan Bar and Restaurant on September 16 shortly before 3am to reports car driven onto the pavement as the driver tried to mow down pedestrians.

Police believe a fight inside the venue escalated and led to the driver of the car targeting pedestrians.

Originally when the incident happened, emergency services did not find anyone with any injuries and partygoers told them nothing significant had occurred.

However some time after the event, investigating officers trawling through CCTV footage saw that a man had been run over and appeared to be knocked unconscious onto the floor.

The victim never came forward and now police have released the CCTV image of the man hoping to locate him as a key witness in a potential case of attempted murder.
