People who broke the law by misusing disabled Blue Badges have been named and shamed by Bromley Council.

Criminal records and fines totalling £3,797 have been handed out to eight drivers as part of a council-led crack down.

Now the council's Blue Badge misuse campaign has recently reached a milestone of fifty prosecutions.

Here is the full list released by the council:

Theresa Johncock, of Meadow Lane, London and Rupia Hussain of Elizabeth Way, Orpington, were each caught using badges belonging to dead relatives.

Ms Johncock pleaded guilty by post at Bromley Magistrates' Court on August 23. She was ordered to pay a fine of £145, court costs of £200 and a £30 surcharge – a total of £375.

Ms Hussain pleaded guilty by post at Bromley Magistrates' Court on August 9. She was ordered to pay a fine of £120, court costs of £100 and a £30 surcharge – a total of £250.

Natasha Cocks, of Manor Rise, Maidstone, was caught using a badge that had been reported stolen. Miss Cocks pleaded guilty by post at Bromley Magistrates' Court on July 26. She was ordered to pay a fine of £440, court costs of £200 and a surcharge of £44 – a total of £684.

Pritesh Patel of Farm Lane, Shirley, was caught using his mother’s Blue Badge to park near to Elmers End train station, which council officers say he had been doing on a regular basis.

He pleaded guilty by post at Bromley Magistrates' Court on August 9. He was ordered to pay a fine of £440, court costs of £275 and a £44 surcharge – a total of £759.

Maria Webb, of Churchill Wood, Bromley, pleaded guilty to misusing her mother’s badge. In court, Miss Webb admitted dropping her mother off at one location, before moving on to a second where she displayed the badge in order to do some shopping.

Miss Webb pleaded guilty at Bromley Magistrates' Court on September 14. She was ordered to pay a fine of £20, court costs of £250 and a £30 surcharge – a total of £300.

Three mothers were caught using blue badges belonging to their children while they were absent.

One mother from Croydon pleaded guilty at Bromley Magistrates' Court on August 9. She was ordered to pay a fine of £80, court costs of £85 and a £30 surcharge – a total of £195.

The second mother from Dulwich pleaded guilty by post at Bromley Magistrates' Court on August 23. She was ordered to pay a fine of £145, court costs of £200 and a £30 surcharge – a total of £375.

The final mother from Thornton Heath was found guilty at Bexley Magistrates' Court on September 25 after she failed to attend her previous hearing. She was ordered to pay a fine of £440, court costs of £375 and a £44 surcharge – a total of £859.

All offences took place between March 3 and April 26 this year.

Blue Badge misuse is a criminal offence which can lead to a £1,000 fine and confiscation of the badge. Anyone who suspects that a blue badge is being used for the benefit of a person who is not the badge holder can report their concerns at bromley.gov.uk/reportbluebadge.
