A guide on all the latest developments regarding cycling in Greenwich is set to be held in Woolwich.

Aimed at encouraging more people to get on their bikes, the third annual Cycling Forum will contain all the latest news and allow people to express their views on cycling in the borough.

Among the schemes in Greenwich focused on cycling include the ability to rent out an electronic bike from the council, and the ability to earn cash for cycling instead of driving via an app.

A cycle superhighway between London Bridge and Greenwich via Deptford is also planned for the area by Mayor Sadiq Khan.

Councillor Sizwe James, cabinet member for transport, economy and smart cities, will be hosting the forum.

He said: “We're creating some excellent cycling opportunities within the borough, and the forum gives us a great opportunity to hear people's views on them.

“We have made a simple and accessible guide to help more residents get on their bikes and enjoy the health benefits cycling can bring. The guide will be a great resource for participants on our training schemes to take home as a reminder of their classes on safe cycling.

“Our cycling strategy is an important part of our work with residents to improve the air quality in the borough and make Royal Greenwich a greener, cleaner place.”

The forum will be held at 7pm until 8.30pm on November 2 at Woolwich Town Hall.
