A free event is being launched to show Bexley residents how they can age well.

Bexley Council is organising the event which will showcase support opportunities and activities for older people and their families.

The event is taking place on Saturday October 14 from 11am to 4pm at the Civic Offices in Bexleyheath.

More than 30 organisations will be showing the work they do and how they can support older people to keep happy and active.

Council Brad Smith, cabinet member for adults’ services said: “We want all people in our borough to love and enjoy later life. This event is the first of its kind in Bexley and is a fantastic way to put older members of our community, their friends, family and carers in touch with local groups and opportunities.

“Visitors will be able to explore an array of exciting free activities and community volunteering opportunities, as well as get advice with health and planning for future retirement. There will also be an opportunity to test out new technology that can support residents to remain independent.

“If you or someone you know - whether they’re a friend, neighbour, partner or relative - would like to see just how much there is to do in the borough, please bring them along.”

There is no booking required.
