Family and friends of missing teen Mya Recardo plan to gather outside the headquarters of the BBC today.

Mya’s mother Rebecca Recardo will lead the group to try and publicise her daughter’s disappearance.

The group will take banners and placards and stand outside Broadcasting House in Portland Place, Marylebone.

Ms Recardo said: “It’s just as serious as a kidnapping because she will deliberately walk into the lion’s den.

“She hasn’t left a trail because she isn’t in the frame of mind to realise how much danger she is in or to care.”

Mya went missing on September 17, when she ran away from a psychiatric hospital.

A renewed appeal for information on her whereabouts has been put out by the Met Police.

Police think Mya may have travelled to Kennington, although officers believe she might be trying to make her way to the Manchester, Yorkshire or Bedfordshire areas.

Mya’s father has been searching the streets of London for her.

According to Mya’s mother, he has been asking homeless people, drug dealers and prostitutes if they have seen his girl.

According to Ms Recardo, Mya’s father has even slept on the street during his search.

The Bromley teen ran away from home in September of last year and has had problems with self-harm.

She is on medication for epilepsy. Her family and police are worried that she will be very vulnerable to exploitation.

Mya’s mother spoke to News Shopper last week saying: “Please, please can someone, anyone, help me to find her, I just need one more chance to be her mum, I would do anything to make this happen, thank you.”

Anybody who has information on Mya’s whereabouts should call the police on 101, Missing People on 116 000.
