Bromley Council has a new leader.
Former deputy leader, Colin Smith, was chosen to lead the council in a meeting last night.
The last leader, Cllr Stephen Carr, resigned on September 15 with local elections less than a year away.
Cllr Carr spoke to News Shopper on September 14.
He said: “I’ve always sought to be the master of my own destiny rather than go on too long or be forced out or required to leave.”
“I’ve always said to my colleagues I will not be pushed out, I will go at my own time. That is what I’m doing, the time is right for me.”
