A drug dealer who sold crack cocaine has been jailed for more than three years.

Ronnie Hughes, of Steele Avenue, Greenhithe, was stopped when he was witnessed acting suspiciously in Roseberry Court, Gravesend, in August.

Police searched him and found Class A drugs in his possession.

The 21-year-old then handed over 21 wraps of crack cocaine.

Hughes's phone contained texts which mentioned supplying drugs.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Michael Champion said: "Hughes is the latest drug dealer to receive a jail sentence for offences in the Gravesend area.

"We’re confident his arrest will help disrupt the flow of Class As into the town, and assure other offenders that we are actively pursuing these crimes.

"Dealers make a dishonest profit by exploiting some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Hughes pleaded guilty to possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

He was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday September 7 to three years and four months in jail.
