Cult hits, independent films and blockbuster favourites are all being screened as part the Catford Free Film Festival.

The festival started last Friday (September 8) at venues across Catford until this Sunday, September 17.

There are 11 screenings and five special workshops on offer and the entire festival is free to attend.

The festival comes about after a successful crowd funding campaign that saw over £10,000 raised through donations from 95 individuals and groups, including £5,000 of funding from Lewisham Council.

Chair of Catford Film, Keith Arnold said: “Last year’s festival was a huge success and we were absolutely blown away by the response to our crowdfunder earlier this year.

“The Catford Free Film Festival is only possible thanks to the support we receive from our community and the contributions of our volunteers.

“The festival is here for all of the community and totally free to attend. We’re excited to get started and hope that everyone will get involved in the festival this September.”
