Grime artist Stormzy has slammed the Metropolitan Police for the pre-Notting Hill Carnival raids across the capital.

A series of dawn raids were executed in London “as part of the Met's pan-London response to violence and knife crime and in the run-up to Notting Hill Carnival” to target “gang crime, drug supply, knife crime and other offences that could impact on the safety of the weekend.”

Stormzy asked: “How many drugs did you lot seize in the run up to Glastonbury or we only doing tweets like this for black events?”

Also, the Met Police tweeted out: “In the run up to #NottingHillCarnival, officers have this morning seized what is believed to be a kilo of uncut heroin in #Catford.”

Many Twitter users asked what uncut heroin in Catford had to do with the Notting Hill Carnival in London.

MrMeeds, tweeted: “Lol what does the drug seize in Catford have to do with Notting Hill Carnival?

“Or is this the standard propaganda you’re perpetuating?”

In Kensington and Chelsea, officers arrested 26 people across four London boroughs (Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Wandsworth).

Officers in Lewisham arrested 14 people. They also seized what is believed to be Class A and Class B drugs.
