An Orpington man who died when his BMW car crashed on the M2 in Kent has been named on social media as Raihard Radu.

Mr Radu, 27, is believed to have died in the crash near Faversham on Monday, August 14.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the crash that happened on the London-bound carriageway of the motorway between junctions six and five.

Tributes to Mr Radu, who was reportedly from Romania and driving a silver BMW 530 at the time, have been left on Facebook.

One translated tribute said: "My beautiful Radu is no longer among us, God rest his peace."

Another said: "My dear and beautiful soul, Radu, God forgive him and rest him in peace."

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old man from the Orpington area was declared deceased at the scene."

Police, firefighters and ambulance crews were called at about 11pm to the crash, but Mr Radu could not be saved.
