A fox who got its head stuck in a fence had to be rescued by the RSPCA and Kent Fire and Rescue service.

The fox was trapped by its neck between a wall and a fence after it tried to jump through a gap in Hazel Road, Dartford.

The RSPCA were called on Friday July 28 and Inspector Rosemary Leach attended to find the fox struggling to breath.

She said: “The fox was well and truly jammed and there was no way he could get out by himself.

“He had superficial wounds to his right foot where he had clearly been scrambling to get out. I took him to the South Essex Wildlife Hospital for treatment, and after a couple of days of monitoring he was able to be released back to the wild on Tuesday, August 1."

Inspector Leach called the fire service to help and an officer pulled the fence to create a big enough gap for Inspector Leach to get the fox out.
