Kids who have been “going to the moon” in Bromley have taken part in a Q&A with the European Space Agency.

The Glades Shopping Centre’s space exhibition had a visit from Bethany Downer from the ESA communication department who answered children’s questions about space.

Kate Miller, general manager of The Glades, said: “The event has been so well-received by locals and out-of-towners, but to also have the backing and support of the ESA is phenomenal.

“It was an honour for us to welcome Bethany and to offer our visitors a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to speak directly with one of the world’s leading space exploration authorities.”

The sold-out event saw space enthusiasts aged six to 10 board a shuttle to experience the history of space travel.

The children heard about the ESA’s space exploration and about astronaut Tim Peake.

Bethany said: “It was wonderful to see the effort that was made for this programme and the visible success of the endeavour, It is initiatives like this that help inspire the future generation of space industry leaders, scientists, and astronauts.”

Kids on the Moon tours run Tuesday to Sunday until Saturday September 2. Booking is necessary and can be done here.
