Friends of a family who had their apartment completely destroyed in a fire are running a fundraiser to get their lives back in order.

Danielle Holland and Shane Moore had to evacuate their two-bedroom apartment with their two children in Greenwich Peninsula after a fire broke out.

20 other neighbouring residents had to evacuate as the fire burned on Tuesday morning.

Candice Price, one of the family’s friends, said: “They have pretty much lost everything. They literally had to evacuate in their pyjamas.

“Makes you realise how important life is and how we all worry over such small things.”

Now the couple and their two children, six-year-old Charlie and two-year-old Hazel, have been left with no belongings and nothing but the pyjamas they were wearing.

Another family friend, Tiffany Lucia Roberts, started a gofundme page to raise money after the devastation the fire caused the family.

She said: “Sadly their 2 bedroom apartment-family home was engulfed in flames, spreading through every room destroying all of their belongings including treasured memories from loved ones that could never be replaced.

“Nothing was salvageable and it is devastating for them to try make peace with the smouldering mound of ash that was their life.

“They were so lucky to escape to safety, before watching their whole life burn right in front of their eyes. In result to this have left them in such despair and distress.”

The fundraiser, which you can find at, has so far raised almost 20 per cent of its goal within 24 hours of being posted.
