New research has revealed the amount of time that drivers in Dartford save when compared to commuters who use trains.
Marbles research has found that there are huge differences across the south east in time taken and costs involved between driving and taking the train.
The research was based on commutes into London.
During the average London commute, in 55 per cent of cases trains comes out on top due as the faster option, taking 534 hours per year, while cars rack up 634 hours which is 22 days compared to 26.
However, according to the study, drivers in Dartford actually save time by using the roads, with train users spending an extra six days on the rails compared to those driving.
This is compared to somewhere like Brighton where commuters would save 16 days a year by taking the train.
Cars were found to be cheaper in 68per cent of case with an average saving on these routes of £609.50.
