The outlook for the beginning of the week in the capital is sun and lots of it, but heavy downpours are expected from Wednesday.

Sunday’s morning cloud is expected to give way to warm, sunny spells throughout the day with a maximum temperature of 26C.

There may be a few showers, most likely in the north.

Skies will clear through the evening with any showers becoming confined to the far southeast overnight. Elsewhere will be dry with light winds and a minimum temperature of 11C.

On Monday any lingering cloud will “quickly clear” from the southeast. It is expected to be dry and warm with blue skies and strong sunshine through the day. Maximum temperature is 26C.

Tuesday be dry, humid and mostly sunny with a top temperature of 26C.

However there may be some isolated outbreaks of heavy, perhaps thundery rain on Wednesday.

It will become cooler on Thursday, with some further showers.
