A gym in Bexley is being redeveloped into new offices for a mental health charity.

Mind In Bexley had planning permission granted in 2015 to redevelop the Changes Ladies Only Gym in Devonshire Road.

Building is now underway to move the mental health charity into the new offices which will provide more space for patients.

A spokesman for Mind in Bexley said: “We brought the ladies only gym, we have the offices next door but this is more of an investment.

“We are looking for somewhere permanent in Bexley and this will save us money in the long term.”

Mind in Bexley have worked in Bexley for 30 years.

In the planning application, it reads: “Our purpose is to work alongside residents with mental health needs to improve their quality of life and well-being.”

Mind is funded primarily by the Bexley Council and Bexley Clinical Commissioning Group.
