A bag full of darts trophies appeared in the front garden of this Belvedere woman’s home and now she’s seeking to reunite them with their owners.

Wendy Scott saw a JD sports bag left inside the wall on her drive when looked out of her front window around 5pm on May 22.

When the 70-year-old woman went outside to investigate, she was surprised to find the bag filled with seven darts trophies dating from 1983 to 2006, engraved with the names D. Bassett and G. Rackstraw.

Mrs Scott initially contacted the police who redirected her to the local council but the council were unable to locate any individuals matching the names on the trophies.

Now she is appealing to anyone who thinks they may know the dart-loving D. Bassett, who according to one of the trophies was the 1983-1984 “Sportsman of the Year”, or G. Rackstraw to get in touch.

She said: “I feel it’s a shame if they belong to someone and they’re looking for them.

“The fact it was round our side of the wall means they had to place them on out property.

“I don’t think someone would drop them on our property if they wanted to get rid of them.”

Mrs Scott lives near a bus stop at Parsonage Manor, Upper Belvedere, and suspects the bag may have been dumped there by someone who was on a bus on this route or was possibly left their by children from the nearby school.

She said: “I’m not sure if it was children larking about who realised they weren’t worth anything.”
